FEATURES
🏰 The 2009 vintage for Champagne was exceptionally good, characterized by an unprecedented stretch of excellent weather conditions that allowed grapes to reach new frontiers of ripeness. A dry winter was followed by much-needed spring rains, leading to successful budburst and flowering. August brought warm, sunny days and cool evenings, which effectively prevented rot and disease. The resulting Champagnes typically display rich, ripe orchard fruit, balanced by good acidity. This was a year of generous wines that showed well early, often exhibiting plush aromatics and a ripe structure with an early "buttery fatness," yet remaining delightfully fresh and precise despite lower acidity. 【An exceptionally good and generous vintage, offering rich, ripe fruit and a delightful freshness.】
🍴 Ruinart Millesime 2009 is a superb aperitif, but also pairs beautifully with a range of dishes including fresh seafood like oysters and scallops, delicate poultry, and light, creamy cheeses.
🥂 This vintage Champagne is ready to drink now, with the best examples still showing beautifully. It's perfect for celebrating milestones, elegant receptions, or simply enjoying a moment of refined indulgence.
BACKGROUND
Founded in 1729, Ruinart is the oldest established Champagne house, renowned for its elegance and mastery of the Chardonnay grape. The house's cellars, ancient Gallo-Roman chalk quarries (Crayères), provide perfect aging conditions. The 'Millésime' (Vintage) Champagne is produced only in exceptional years, blending Premier and Grand Cru Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It represents the pinnacle of the house's classic style, offering a richer, more complex profile than their non-vintage wines, with notes of toasted almonds, ripe stone fruits, honey, and a creamy, luxurious texture.
