🏰Henri Jayer's Echezeaux Grand Cru is a 【legendary Burgundy Pinot Noir, crafted by one of the most revered winemakers whose wines are now exceptionally rare and highly sought after by collectors worldwide】. The 1993 vintage for Burgundy reds was outstanding, producing powerful and concentrated wines with a firm backbone of ripe tannins, built for aging. Jayer's Echezeaux is known for its purity, elegance, and incredible depth, often described as a "heavenly" experience. The 1993 Henri Jayer Echezeaux Grand Cru, even after decades, can be "stupefyingly good". Expect a perfect balance of blackcurrant, cherry, and strawberry aromas and flavors, intense yet elegant, with a glorious, long finish. Some notes describe it as darker fruited with plenty of spice, or with classic Vosne spice and earthiness. As an older wine, be aware of potential bottle variation and the possibility of fragile corks.

This exquisite Pinot Noir demands equally refined pairings. Think classic French cuisine like roasted duck, goose, or game birds. It would also be superb with truffle-infused dishes, mushroom risotto, or delicate pan-seared foie gras.

This is a 【once-in-a-lifetime wine, reserved for the most significant celebrations, a true connoisseur's dream to share with fellow Burgundy enthusiasts】. It's a wine for profound contemplation and appreciation of a master's legacy. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F). Given its age, the cork will be very fragile; use a Durand or similar tool. Decant only if necessary to remove sediment, and for a very short period (30 minutes maximum) just before serving, as older wines can fade quickly once exposed to air. Be prepared for potential bottle variation.
BACKGROUND
Henri Jayer is a Burgundy red wine producer known for making some of the most acclaimed and expensive Pinot Noirs in the world. Jayer retired from winemaking in 2001 and died in 2006, leaving the winery to his nephew Emmanuel Rouget, with all vintages since 2001 released in his name. Henri Jayer's wines were produced in limited quantities and in dwindling quantities, making them some of the most collectible and expensive wines in the world. While critically acclaimed, the reputation of Jayer wines was further enhanced by the emergence of wine-related books such as the Japanese manga series Drops of God. The brand itself was founded by Jayer when he inherited 3 hectares (7 acres) of land in the Côte d'Or, which included land in the Grand Cru Echézeaux vineyard.
