FEATURES
🏰 Château Haut Brion Blanc 1993 is a rare and highly sought-after dry white Bordeaux, exhibiting a 【flattering nose of oily, mineral-scented, ripe, honeyed fruit, with full-bodied, super-concentrated flavors and admirable acidity】. Despite a challenging 1993 vintage in Bordeaux, Haut-Brion Blanc produced a wine with great vibrancy and delineation, and a rich, long, dry, refreshing finish, surprising with its opulence and richness. Notes of ginger, spices, honey, acacia, and lemon mingle with semi-oxidative touches, showcasing a complex and evolving profile. 🍴 This mature and complex white Bordeaux is delightful with richer dishes, particularly those with cream sauces, such as quenelles of pike with crayfish sauce, roast pheasant, or braised sweetbreads. It also pairs beautifully with lobster poached in butter, topped with Oscietra caviar. 🥂 An exceptional and luxurious wine for a truly memorable occasion, offering a profound tasting experience. Serve carefully at 12-14°C (54-57°F). Given its age, expect a delicate cork and capsule; decanting gently to separate any sediment is recommended.
Chateau Haut Brion Blanc is the best white wine among Bordeaux region and able to match with top Burgundy white.
BACKGROUND
Château Haut-Brion is the oldest of Bordeaux's five first growths, and one of the most famous wines in the world. Located in Pessac-Léognan, south of the city of Bordeaux, France. The majority of the estate's 51 hectares (126 acres) of vineyard is planted to red varieties with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot covering 48 hectares (118 acres) while three hectares (7.5 acres) are given over to Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The vineyards were established in the 1530s by the Pontac family, changing hands several times throughout the ensuing centuries. Historical evidence shows that Haut-Brion was drunk by King Charles II and Thomas Jefferson, and the famous London diarist Samuel Pepys was also a fan of the wine.
