Rene Engel, Vosne Romanee Les Brulees 1er Cru, 1997
🏰The 1997 Rene Engel Vosne Romanee Les Brulees 1er Cru is a highly regarded 1er Cru from Vosne-Romanée, celebrated for its 【elegance, complexity, and profound expression of its unique terroir】. The 1997 vintage in 布根地 was a challenging yet ultimately good year, producing charming wines that have aged gracefully. Expect classic 布根地 Pinot Noir characteristics with evolving red fruit notes of cherry and raspberry, complemented by floral nuances, forest floor, and spice. With age, it reveals deeper notes of truffle, game, and earthy undertones, all framed by an elegant structure and fine tannins.
🍴 This refined red wine is an exquisite pairing for roasted duck, coq au vin, delicate mushroom dishes, or a selection of fine, earthy cheeses.
🥂 An excellent choice for a special anniversary, an intimate dinner, or a gathering of 布根地 connoisseurs appreciating a mature and nuanced Pinot Noir.
BACKGROUND
Domaine René Engel was a Burgundy producer known for making some of the top examples of Pinot Noir in Vosne-Romanée, France. The domaine remained in the Engel family for three generations until the death of Philippe Engel in 2005. The domaine's vineyard holdings spanned a total of around six hectares. In 2006, René Engel's vineyard holdings were purchased by François Pinault, owner of the renowned Château Latour, and Domaine d'Eugenie was formed.
