🏰 The 2017 Georges Mugneret Gibourg Nuits St Georges Les Vignes Rondes 1er Cru is a 【highly sought-after red Burgundy, known for its elegance, purity, and ability to beautifully express the Nuits-Saint-Georges terroir】. While specific detailed notes for the 2017 vintage of this particular wine are not widely available, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru wines are generally characterized by their firm structure, dark fruit profile, and earthy, savory undertones. The 2017 vintage in Burgundy was generally considered a very good year for reds, producing wines with freshness, charm, and good aging potential.
🍴 This classic red Burgundy is an excellent partner for traditional French cuisine. Think roasted game birds like pheasant or duck, beef bourguignon, coq au vin, or grilled lamb chops. Its earthy notes also complement mushroom-based dishes and mature, firm cheeses like Comté or Époisses.
🥂 This Nuits St Georges 1er Cru is ideal for a sophisticated dinner, a special celebration, or as a prized addition to a Burgundy collector's cellar. It offers both immediate pleasure and the potential for further development with age. Serve at around 16-18°C (60-64°F). Decanting for 1-2 hours can help to soften its youthful tannins and allow its complex aromas to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg is a French producer of high-quality Pinot Noir located in the Côte de Nuits, famous for its wines from Burgundy's most popular vineyards. The winery was founded in 1933, and in the 1950s small plots of land were purchased to expand the family's vineyards. Incorporated in 2009 as Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg. The most rare and expensive wines of the winery come from the Grand Cru vineyards Ruchottes Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot and Echézeaux, and it also produces Burgundy red wine from multiple Premier Cru vineyards.
