Guiborat, Le Mont Aigu Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs, 2014
🏰 Guiborat's Le Mont Aigu Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2014 hails from a Champagne vintage that, while tricky in parts, ultimately delivered solid and balanced wines. After a warm, dry spring, July and August were cool and wet, but a benign September with warm, dry conditions saved the harvest, allowing grapes to ripen. Chardonnay, the sole grape in Blanc de Blancs, performed particularly well. The 2014 Champagnes are characterized by medium fruit notes of apple, pear, and white citrus, balanced acidity, and a medium body with subtle minerality. They are generally approachable and inviting in their youth, with the structure to age. 【A classic Blanc de Blancs from a balanced 2014 Champagne vintage】
🥂 This elegant Blanc de Blancs is perfect for aperitifs, celebratory toasts, or as a sophisticated accompaniment to a seafood feast. Its balanced nature makes it a reliable choice for various festive occasions. It's very good to drink now, with its drinking window extending over the next 3-5 years.
🍴 It would be delightful with oysters, scallops, grilled prawns, or delicate white fish. For an Eastern pairing, consider sushi and sashimi, dim sum, or light seafood stir-fries.
