BACKGROUND
Benoît Déhu is a rising star among grower-producers in Champagne, based in Fossoy in the Vallée de la Marne. After working for Bollinger, he returned to his family estate and began a meticulous project focusing on a single 1.7-hectare parcel called 'La Rue des Noyers'. He farms this plot biodynamically, using horses for plowing. The 'La Rue des Noyers' Champagne is a Blanc de Noirs made entirely from Pinot Meunier. Fermented and aged in oak barrels made from trees grown near the vineyard, and bottled as Brut Nature (zero dosage), it is a wine of incredible tension, purity, and complex earthy, orchard-fruit flavors.
