FEATURES
🏰Denis Mortet's Chambertin Grand Cru 2014 comes from a tiny plot of vines planted in 1955 and 1957 within the legendary Chambertin vineyard, known as the 【King of Burgundy】. Domaine Denis Mortet, now run by Arnaud Mortet, is celebrated for producing concentrated, opulent, and age-worthy Pinot Noir, with Arnaud continuing his father's legacy while embracing more traditional techniques. The 2014 vintage in Burgundy was characterized by a wide, sleek, and intense style, with deep, dark fruit and a certain silkiness, often showing a mineral note on the finish. Denis Mortet's wines are often described as spellbinding creations, instantly seducing with their seamless texture, filigree tannins, and beguiling purity of fruit. This Chambertin Grand Cru is expected to be a wine of immense depth and complexity, reflecting the meticulous vineyard work and non-interventionist winemaking approach. 🍴 This regal Chambertin Grand Cru demands a pairing of equal stature, such as roasted venison with a berry reduction, or a classic Boeuf Bourguignon. For an elevated Asian pairing, consider a delicate Peking duck, where the wine's complexity can harmonize with the rich, savory flavors without being overwhelmed. 🥂 An exceptional wine for a milestone celebration or a serious collector's tasting, this 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru is a testament to its prestigious terroir and masterful winemaking. It possesses significant aging potential, promising to evolve beautifully over decades.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Denis Mortet is located in northern Burgundy and is famous for producing high-quality Pinot Noir wine. It is produced in a modern style and has a delicate taste. The domaine currently occupies 11.2 hectares (27 acres) and has also purchased part of the Le Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard. The winery was founded in 1956 when Charles Mortet purchased a hectare of vineyard and began selling fruit to merchants. Mortet's son Denis and his wife Laurence started working at the estate in 1978 and took over and established Domaine Denis Mortet in the early 1990s.
