BACKGROUND
Domaine Denis Bachelet, a small Burgundy producer based in Gevrey-Chambertin, has developed a following for its limited-edition, small-batch red wines made from Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in 1983 by Denis Bachelet when he took over family land totaling just under 2 hectares (5 acres). The owner then doubled the estate's vineyard area and acquired a small parcel of land in the Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin vineyard and another in the Premier Cru Les Corbeaux vineyard. The two parcels of land each cover just over 0.4 hectares (one acre). The winery produces a variety of Gevrey-Chambertin and Côte de Nuits-Villages wines, as well as Bourgogne Rouge and Bourgogne Aligoté. )wine.
