Prieure Roch, Chambertin Clos De Beze Grand Cru, 2014
🏰 Domaine Prieuré Roch, founded by Henry-Frédéric Roch (co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti), is celebrated for its natural winemaking approach, emphasizing minimal intervention, whole cluster fermentation, and a deep respect for terroir. Their Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is a highly sought-after wine, embodying the essence of this prestigious vineyard. The 2014 vintage in Burgundy was generally considered a good year, producing elegant and fresh wines with good acidity and purity, which aligns well with Prieuré Roch's style. 【 Natural winemaking from a legendary Grand Cru vineyard 】
Expect a red Burgundy that, while still relatively young, will offer a captivating aromatic profile. Prieuré Roch's wines are known for their expressive, often savory and earthy notes alongside vibrant red and dark fruits. You might find aromas of wild berries, rose petals, forest floor, and a hint of spice. The palate would be silky and refined, with integrated tannins, bright acidity, and a long, complex finish that speaks of its Grand Cru origin and natural winemaking.
🥂 This Chambertin Clos de Bèze is a wine for serious Burgundy enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate natural wine. It's suitable for a special occasion or a focused tasting, particularly if you want to explore the nuances of natural winemaking in a Grand Cru context. While enjoyable now, it has excellent aging potential and will continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade or more.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy would pair exquisitely with refined dishes. Consider roasted duck, pan-seared foie gras, truffle-infused risotto, or delicate game birds like squab. Its earthy and savory notes would also complement mushroom-based dishes or a selection of artisanal, semi-hard cheeses.
