🏰Delas Frères Hermitage Les Bessards 2010 is an 【utterly profound and sensational Hermitage, often rated 100 points by critics like Robert Parker and Jeb Dunnuck】. This flagship Syrah from the steepest, most rugged part of Hermitage Hill is known for its immense concentration and longevity, capable of aging for half a century. The 2010 vintage was exemplary, with balanced temperatures ensuring optimum ripeness and complexity. It reveals a vivid ruby hue and a gorgeous perfume of red and black fruits, crushed stone, spring flowers, incense, camphor, and burning embers. On the palate, it's full-bodied, dense, concentrated, and powerful, with thrilling tannins, perfect balance, and a finish that won't quit. It has sensational notes of liquid granite, smoked meats, scorched earth, currants, and chocolate.
🍴 This powerful and complex Syrah is an ideal match for red meats, game, spicy stews, grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. It also pairs well with Asian dishes and hearty fish courses like tuna.
🥂 This is a wine for serious collectors and grand occasions, demanding patience and a cold cellar. It needs at least a decade of cellaring to round into drinking form and can be enjoyed for 30 years or more. Decant for 1-3 hours before serving to allow its complexity to unfold. Serve at 15.5°C (60°F) to enhance its freshness and lift.
