FEATURES
🏰【Bollinger Grande Annee Rose 1989, a vintage Champagne Rosé from a renowned house, offers a rare glimpse into the past, promising a mature and evolved expression of this prestigious cuvée.】 While specific tasting notes for this vintage are scarce, Bollinger Grande Année Rosé is generally celebrated for its complexity, structure, and ability to age gracefully, often revealing notes of red fruits, spice, and brioche with time.
🍴 This mature Champagne Rosé would be a sophisticated pairing for delicate meaty and oily fish dishes, or perhaps a refined red fruit dessert that isn't overly sweet. It can also elevate an elegant aperitif spread.
🥂 An exceptional bottle for a truly special anniversary or a momentous celebration, offering a unique historical tasting experience. Given its considerable age, extreme care should be taken with the cork and capsule. Serve well-chilled (around 8-10°C or 46-50°F) to preserve its delicate effervescence, but allow it to warm slightly in the glass to reveal its full aromatic spectrum. Decanting is not recommended for Champagne.
BACKGROUND
Champagne Bollinger, founded in 1829 in Aÿ, is one of the most prestigious and historic houses in Champagne, renowned for its powerful, Pinot Noir-dominant style. 'La Grande Année Rosé' is a vintage champagne produced only in exceptional years. It is crafted by blending the classic La Grande Année (predominantly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) with a small percentage of still red wine from Bollinger's legendary Côte aux Enfants vineyard in Aÿ. Fermented entirely in oak barrels and aged extensively on its lees, this rosé is rich, complex, and gastronomic, featuring notes of wild strawberries, toasted nuts, and spices.
