🏰 The 2023 Burgundy vintage is highly anticipated, with expectations of brilliance for both reds and whites. Denis Bachelet's Côte de Nuits-Villages 2023 is particularly noteworthy, sourced from old vines (some planted as early as 1952) on east-facing limestone-clay slopes and aged in about 25% new French oak. This wine will be reclassified as Fixin from the 2024 vintage onwards, making the 2023 a unique expression under its current appellation. William Kelley of The Wine Advocate rated it "especially good," praising its layered, textural profile with excellent concentration and a long finish. Sean Tay also awarded it 91 points, highlighting its pronounced nose intensity with spices, wood, red and black fruits, and balanced acidity and tannin. 【Highly anticipated 2023 Burgundy vintage, with Denis Bachelet's village wine showing exceptional quality】.
This wine exhibits aromas of blackberries, mulberries, licorice, and spices. Expect bright red fruit notes like raspberry and wild strawberry, alongside deeper black cherry and spice. Earthy, mineral, and subtle oaky notes (vanilla, tobacco) may also be present.
🍴 Classic food pairings for this red 布根地 include duck, goose, and game birds. It also complements beef, veal, and poultry dishes well.
🥂 An excellent choice for a dinner with friends, a special family gathering, or an occasion to enjoy a youthful, promising Burgundy.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Denis Bachelet, a small Burgundy producer based in Gevrey-Chambertin, has developed a following for its limited-edition, small-batch red wines made from Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in 1983 by Denis Bachelet when he took over family land totaling just under 2 hectares (5 acres). The owner then doubled the estate's vineyard area and acquired a small parcel of land in the Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin vineyard and another in the Premier Cru Les Corbeaux vineyard. The two parcels of land each cover just over 0.4 hectares (one acre). The winery produces a variety of Gevrey-Chambertin and Côte de Nuits-Villages wines, as well as Bourgogne Rouge and Bourgogne Aligoté. )wine.
