🏰【A classic Pouilly-Fumé from a historic family estate, renowned for its vibrant aromatic profile and distinctive minerality】. The 2024 vintage is a future vintage, so specific vintage reports and tasting notes are not yet available. However, Domaine Serge Dagueneau et Filles is a historic family estate in Saint Andelain, Loire Valley, known for its Pouilly-Fumé made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. They own 19 hectares of old vineyards, some over a hundred years old, on calcareous clay soils (Terres blanches) rich in fossilized oysters, which impart a sublime mineral richness to the wine. The estate is run by Serge's daughter Valerie, with Serge still helping in the vineyard. Based on previous vintages, expect a lively and complex aromatic profile characterized by citrus notes (lemon, grapefruit), white flowers, and a distinctive stony minerality reminiscent of silex, with typical smoky nuances. The palate offers crystal-clear freshness, well-balanced acidity, an elegant texture, and a long aromatic persistence.
🍴 This wine pairs wonderfully as an aperitif, with seafood, shellfish, grilled fish, white meats, roast poultry, and fresh goat cheeses.
🥂 As a future vintage, this wine is not yet released. It will be ideal for enjoying fresh upon release or for cellaring for 5 to 10 years to develop a honeyed richness reminiscent of white Burgundy.
