Meo Camuzet, Vosne Romanee Aux Brulees 1er Cru, 2019
🏰 The 2019 Meo Camuzet Vosne Romanee Aux Brulees 1er Cru is a powerful aristocrat of a 布根地 Pinot Noir, often considered to be of quasi-Grand-Cru tier quality. This concentrated and structurally-anchored wine opens with a vivid bouquet of 【sun-kissed cherries, plum, and blood orange】, laced with 【exotic spices and a touch of raw cocoa】. The palate reveals ripe red and black fruits, violet, and baking spices, supported by silky tannins and vibrant acidity, leading to a long and graceful finish.
🍴 This exceptional 布根地 red is an ideal match for aged rib of beef, herb-crusted rack of lamb, or pan-seared foie gras with figs. For a more adventurous pairing, consider roasted woodcock with wild mushrooms, venison with red-wine reduction, or grilled duck breast with cherry sauce. Mature vintages also pair beautifully with aged Comté and walnut bread.
🥂 Perfect for an important business meal, a wedding anniversary, or an elegant family celebration, this wine has the potential to evolve and improve for several more years in the cellar, offering tertiary complexity over 20-25 years.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
