Vincent Girardin, Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, 2003
🏰 The 2003 Vincent Girardin Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a testament to a ripe vintage, offering a rich and complex profile. While some bottles from this vintage might show early oxidation, this wine, when well-preserved, reveals a beautiful evolution. 【Expect a sophisticated interplay of dense, ripe fruit with intriguing floral and savory notes, leading to a palate of decent texture and refreshing acidity.】 Hints of pineapple and lemon blossom into a buttery melange, complemented by mineral undertones of flint and lime.
🍴 This exquisite white 布根地 pairs wonderfully with rich fish like salmon or tuna, roasted chicken or turkey, and a selection of mild, soft cheeses. For a more indulgent experience, consider creamy pasta dishes or even pan-seared scallops.
🥂 An ideal choice for a special dinner, a celebratory gathering, or an intimate tasting session with fellow wine enthusiasts who appreciate the depth and evolution of a fine white Burgundy.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Vincent Girardin was founded by Vincent Girardin, who hails from the village of Santenay and comes from a family of winemakers. Passionate about wine, Vincent inherited the family's two-hectare vineyard and established the winery in 1994, sourcing grapes only from growers who shared his philosophy. The primary grape varieties are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In 2001, the winery moved from Santenay to Meursault. In 2012, Vincent decided to sell the winery to La Compagnie des Vins d’Autrefois, and it is now managed by Eric Germain and Marco Caschera.
