Prieure Roch, Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes, 2013
🏰 The 2013 vintage in 布根地 (Burgundy) was a challenging one, marked by a cold, wet winter and spring, delayed flowering, and hailstorms in some areas. However, a warm and sunny August provided some relief, and despite a delayed October harvest, careful vineyard management and strict grape selection by dedicated producers yielded surprisingly good wines. Prieuré Roch, known for its natural winemaking philosophy and minimal intervention, often transcends vintage difficulties. Their Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes 2013 is expected to be a charming red fruit vintage, with a distinct style and character. The best reds from 2013, particularly from the Côte de Nuits, are characterized by high phenolic ripeness and a crisp, vibrant acidity, offering a tension between juicy fruit and energetic acidity. 【Prieuré Roch's natural winemaking approach often yields unique expressions of terroir】. Expect light, elegant wines with low tannins and sufficient acidity, showcasing the terroir with excellent transparency.
🍴 This Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru, with its red fruit profile and earthy undertones, pairs wonderfully with classic 布根地 (Burgundy) cuisine. Think roasted poultry like guinea fowl, pan-seared duck breast with cherry reduction, or delicate game dishes. Mushroom-based recipes, especially those with wild mushrooms, would also be an excellent match. For an East Asian pairing, consider a light soy-glazed pork belly or a mushroom hotpot, where the wine's elegance can complement the savoury umami.
🥂 This wine is ideal for a thoughtful dinner with fellow wine enthusiasts, a special family meal, or an occasion where the unique expression of a natural 布根地 (Burgundy) is appreciated. It's a wine that invites contemplation and discussion.
