Prieure Roch, Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes, 2014
🏰 Prieure Roch's Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes 2014 is a testament to the unique philosophy of this cult Burgundy producer, known for its minimal intervention and old vine expressions. The 2014 Burgundy vintage for reds was generally very good, producing wines with freshness, purity of fruit, and good structure, often described as classic. This wine, from old vines, would offer 【a concentrated and complex profile, showcasing the depth and nuance that only mature vines can provide, with a focus on terroir expression and delicate red fruit character】. Prieure Roch wines are highly sought after for their distinctive, soulful qualities.
🍴 This elegant and complex red Burgundy demands food pairings that complement its finesse rather than overpower it. Think roasted duck breast with a berry reduction, pan-seared wild mushrooms, or a delicate venison carpaccio. It also pairs beautifully with traditional coq au vin or a selection of mild, earthy cheeses like Comté or Époisses.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a special occasion, a gathering of Burgundy enthusiasts, or a contemplative tasting experience. This is a wine that rewards patience and appreciation for subtle complexities. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
