🏰 The 2012 Meo Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is an 【outstanding 布根地 Grand Cru】 that expresses remarkable finesse with a lace-like texture and superb length. The 2012 vintage is described as intense and very tightly wound, with bright, precise, and chiseled flavors. This wine offers a sensual bouquet, nicely embroidered with fruit, underneath a carapace of new oak. It is medium-bodied with succulent ripe but firm tannins, lending bewitching symmetry, and a silky smooth texture that is long and assertive on the finish. Expect saline notes underpinning layers of red fruits, freshly cut flowers, and crushed rocks, along with subtle oak framing an intensely earthy yet cool and airy red and dark berry fruit nose, trimmed in gentle hints of spice and sandalwood.
🍴 This exquisite red pairs beautifully with duck, goose, and other game birds.
🥂 An excellent choice for a special occasion, a formal dinner, or for collectors seeking a 布根地 Grand Cru with significant aging potential.
Serving Suggestion: For this 14-year-old Grand Cru, stand the bottle upright for at least 24 hours to allow sediment to settle. Decant gently just before serving to remove sediment and allow the wine to open up. Serve at cellar temperature (around 16-18°C). Be prepared for a potentially fragile cork; an Ah-So or Durand corkscrew is recommended.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
