FEATURES
🏰 The 1982 vintage is fabled in Bordeaux, and the Château Lynch Bages from this year stands as a titan among its heralded creations, continually echoing its climactic season's brilliance. This vintage was a modern benchmark for the estate, showcasing a mesmerizing interplay of robust tannins and a luxuriant bouquet. 【Fabled 1982 Bordeaux benchmark】. This beautifully mature wine exhibits rich aromas of crème de cassis, blackberries, licorice, sweet loamy soil, and cigar wrapper. It's full-bodied, broad, and unctuous, with fleshy, textural qualities, sweet, ripe tannins, and low acidity, culminating in a long, expansive finish. Expect intense aromas of mint, lead pencil, and currants, along with tobacco leaves and black truffle. The palate is often described as smooth as silk, with notes of violets, gravel, celery seed, plum, black cherry, chocolate, and dry forest floor. All the tannins are resolved, and the wine is in full bloom. 🍴 Château Lynch Bages 1982 is best served with all types of classic meat dishes, including veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, and roast chicken. It's also a perfect match for Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, pasta, and various cheeses. Consider pairing it with roasted fowl or a rich Côte du Boeuf. 🥂 This wine offers its best drinking and should reach peak maturity between 15-50 years of age after the vintage. It is fully mature but shows no danger of imminent decline, and can be drunk now with great pleasure or cellared for another 10-15 years. **Serving Advice for this Aged Treasure:** This 1982 vintage is a testament to the longevity of great Bordeaux. When handling such an aged bottle, proceed with care; old corks and capsules can be fragile. It's advisable to use a Durand or Ah-So opener. Serve at 15.5 degrees Celsius (60 degrees Fahrenheit) to allow its freshness and lift to shine. While some older vintages might need very little decanting, just enough to remove sediment, a good bottle of 1982 Lynch Bages can benefit from 60 minutes of decanting to enhance the experience. However, a quick decant has also proven to be great. Be prepared for potential sediment and decant carefully if desired, but avoid over-decanting, which can strip delicate aromas from very old wines. Enjoy this liquid history responsibly.
