🏰 【A truly legendary and monumental wine, rated as one of the very best and built to last for decades】, the 2005 Du Comte Liger-Belair La Romanée Grand Cru is a profound expression of 布根地 (Burgundy) Pinot Noir. This Grand Cru offers a very refined bouquet of 【black plum, cranberry, and subtle marine influences, evolving into layers of dark cherry, ripe berries, violets, and sweet Vosne spices】. The palate is powerful yet delicate, with fine, supple tannins, poignant acidity, and an exceptional minerality, leading to an explosively long and intense finish that showcases its incredible terroir.
🍴 This extraordinary La Romanée demands equally exceptional pairings. Consider roasted venison, a classic beef fillet with truffles, or a slow-cooked lamb dish. It also pairs magnificently with intensely-flavoured, aged cheeses like Époisses or Comté.
🥂 The pinnacle of celebration, perfect for a landmark anniversary, a significant achievement, or a once-in-a-lifetime tasting experience for the most discerning collectors.
BACKGROUND
Founded in 2000, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair is a relatively new wine producer in Burgundy, but the Liger-Belair family has experience in vineyards since 1815. . It is now managed by Louis-Michel Liguet, Comte de Belaire, who has begun planting vineyards again in Vonn-Romagne and Saint-Georges. Comte Liger-Belair now produces its only wine from La Romanée, a Grand Cru vineyard located on the Romanée-Conti hills. The domaine also owns land in several Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru vineyards. Although the domaine is young, its wines are elegantly structured and highly sought after. La Romanée is one of the most expensive wines produced in Burgundy.
