BACKGROUND
Weingut Keller, located in Rheinhessen, Germany, is widely considered one of the greatest Riesling producers in the world. Under the guidance of Klaus Peter Keller, the estate produces dry Rieslings (Grosses Gewächs) that have achieved cult status. The 'Pettenthal' vineyard is a steep, red slate Grand Cru (Grosse Lage) site situated along the 'Roter Hang' (Red Hill) near the Rhine river. Keller's Pettenthal Riesling is a masterpiece of precision and power, offering explosive aromas of white peach, citrus, and smoky crushed rocks, with a razor-sharp acidity and an incredibly long, mineral-driven finish.
