Georges Mugneret Gibourg, Nuits Saint Georges Au Bas De Combe, 2017
🏰 The 2017 vintage in Burgundy for red wines was generally considered very good, offering charming and approachable wines with good fruit purity and freshness. It was a vintage that produced wines for earlier enjoyment compared to some more structured years, but with enough depth for medium-term aging. Georges Mugneret Gibourg is a highly respected producer known for crafting elegant and expressive Pinot Noir wines from their Nuits-Saint-Georges vineyards.
Expect a classic Nuits-Saint-Georges profile with red and dark berry fruits, hints of cherry, and possibly some earthy or savory notes. The 2017 vintage suggests a wine with good aromatic intensity, supple tannins, and a fresh acidity, making it quite enjoyable in its youth but also capable of developing more complexity with a few years in bottle. 【 Elegant and expressive Nuits-Saint-Georges from a highly respected producer 】
🍴 This red Burgundy would be exquisite with roasted poultry like duck or guinea fowl, mushroom-based dishes, or classic Burgundian beef stew (Boeuf Bourguignon). Lighter game meats or aged hard cheeses would also be excellent companions.
🥂 Perfect for a special dinner celebrating a milestone, a sophisticated gathering of wine lovers, or a romantic evening.
