🏰 The 2021 vintage in Burgundy presented challenges but yielded wines of freshness and purity, particularly for Pinot Noir. Du Comte Liger-Belair's Nuits Saint Georges Aux Lavières 2021, from a highly esteemed producer, is expected to embody the classic Nuits-Saint-Georges character: structured, savory, and earthy, with a core of dark red fruit. Aux Lavières is known for producing wines with good depth and a firm, mineral-driven backbone, reflecting its terroir. 【 Purity and freshness from a challenging 2021 vintage 】
🍴 This robust red Burgundy is an excellent partner for roasted or grilled red meats, such as lamb chops or beef tenderloin. It also complements game dishes, earthy mushroom preparations, and mature, hard cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a formal dinner, a special occasion celebrating fine Burgundy, or a gathering of serious wine enthusiasts looking to explore a nuanced and age-worthy Pinot Noir.
BACKGROUND
Founded in 2000, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair is a relatively new wine producer in Burgundy, but the Liger-Belair family has experience in vineyards since 1815. . It is now managed by Louis-Michel Liguet, Comte de Belaire, who has begun planting vineyards again in Vonn-Romagne and Saint-Georges. Comte Liger-Belair now produces its only wine from La Romanée, a Grand Cru vineyard located on the Romanée-Conti hills. The domaine also owns land in several Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru vineyards. Although the domaine is young, its wines are elegantly structured and highly sought after. La Romanée is one of the most expensive wines produced in Burgundy.
