🏰The 2001 Jean-Luc Colombo Cornas Les Ruchets is a 【powerful and elegant Syrah from 80-100 year old vines】, exhibiting tremendous density and richness. Robert Parker rated it 93 points, noting its blackberry, cassis, mineral, pepper, licorice, and espresso-scented bouquet and flavors. It's described as dense and sweet, with dark berry and spicy oak flavors, a distinctly saline quality, and sweet, very fine tannins. Other notes mention meaty and cedary aromas, with black olive and coffee flavors.
🍴 This robust Northern Rhône Syrah pairs exceptionally well with grilled red meats, roasted lamb, game (such as venison or wild boar), and rich stews. Its peppery character also complements dishes with black olives or herbs.
🥂 An excellent choice for a hearty dinner with friends, a special occasion, or a tasting focused on powerful and expressive Syrah wines.
