🏰 Revered as 【one of the most subtle wines in all of Burgundy】, the 2016 Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is a masterpiece of harmony, often rated nearly at the same level as its Grand Cru neighbor, Musigny. The 2016 vintage, despite very low yields due to frost, produced a concentrated and elegant wine. Joseph Drouhin's commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture shines through in this expression. It offers alluring aromas of raspberry, minerals, and flowers, evolving into notes of kirsch, truffle, mushroom, or even musky nuances. The palate is concentrated and savory, with a very fine-grained, silky texture, lovely balance, and well-integrated, dusty tannins, finishing with a delicate impression of supreme refinement.
🍴 This exquisite red Burgundy pairs beautifully with classic meat dishes like roasted chicken, duck, or lighter game. It also complements mushroom-based preparations and semi-hard cheeses.
🥂 Fantastic to taste now, this wine will continue to evolve beautifully over the next three to four years, making it perfect for special occasions, romantic dinners, or for discerning collectors.
BACKGROUND
Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy's most important wine producers, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir, with a small portion being Chardonnay. Founded in Beaune in 1880, the domaine has expanded throughout the 20th Century to include vineyards in Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, making everything from simple, village-level cuvées to highly priced grand cru and premier cru wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
