🏰 The 1992 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas, from a cool and rainy vintage, is a testament to Clape's mastery, producing a wine with a 【mineral-driven profile and higher than usual acidity】. This bold and structured Syrah, rated 88/100 by critics, embodies the traditional, powerful style of Cornas. Expect an ink-colored, tannic wine with a welcome hint of rusticity, loaded with blackberries and violets, offering savory, smoky notes and a steely, irony finish. It's a wine that captures the essence of its terroir and the producer's unwavering commitment to tradition.
🍴 This robust Cornas is an excellent partner for hearty dishes such as lamb, roasted game, beef stew, or strong cheeses. Its grippy tannins and savory notes will beautifully complement rich, flavorful meats.
🥂 Perfect for a vertical tasting of Clape Cornas, a special dinner with a focus on Northern Rhône wines, or for those who appreciate the evolution of powerful Syrah with age.
*Serving Suggestion: Given its age, this 1992 vintage may have a delicate cork and sediment. Decant carefully for 2-3 hours to allow the wine to open up and reveal its full complexity, serving at 16-18°C (60-64°F).*
