🏰 The 2010 Pierre Damoy Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru is a 【powerhouse of a wine, showcasing the intensity and sheer muscle of the vintage】. Upon release, it was big and unrestrained, but today, its tannins have softened, revealing layers of deep floral notes, nuanced earth, a touch of spice, dark red fruit, and graphite. This notably spicier expression of Pinot Noir offers primarily purple fruit aromas and earthy nuances, leading to beautifully detailed, rich, and intensely large-scaled flavors. It is overtly muscular and robust, wrapped in a dusty finish with dense yet fine tannins, promising excellent length and rewarding long-term aging. The vintage itself saw dramatically reduced yields, around 30-40%, contributing to its concentration.
🍴 This grand cru Burgundy demands equally grand food pairings. Think classic French cuisine like coq au vin, roasted duck with cherry sauce, or a rich beef bourguignon. Its earthy and spicy notes also make it a fantastic match for game birds or truffle-infused dishes.
🥂 An exceptional wine for a significant celebration, a serious Burgundy tasting, or as a prized addition to a collector's cellar. This wine is built for the long haul and will continue to evolve beautifully. Anticipated maturity is generally cited between 2020-2030, but it can certainly be enjoyed now with proper aeration. Serve at a cool cellar temperature, around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for an hour or two to allow its complex aromas and flavors to fully unfold.
