FEATURES
🏰 The 1999 vintage in Burgundy is widely considered excellent, particularly for red wines, producing wines with good concentration, ripe fruit, and firm but fine tannins, built for long-term aging. Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, from a respected producer like Daniel Moine-Hudelot, would embody the power and elegance characteristic of this prestigious appellation. Expect a wine that, at over two decades old, will display a complex bouquet of dark berries, violets, and earthy notes, evolving into more savory and gamey nuances with age. The 1999 vintage allowed for wines with both richness and freshness, making them highly sought after for their balance and longevity. 【 A powerful and elegant Grand Cru from a classic, age-worthy vintage. 】 🥂 This magnificent Grand Cru is perfect for a very special occasion, a significant anniversary, or as a centerpiece for a serious wine collector's tasting. It's a wine that offers a profound experience and is meant to be savored and appreciated for its complexity and history. Serving Advice: For a wine of this age, careful handling is paramount. The cork may be fragile, so a Durand opener or an Ah-So cork puller is highly recommended. Stand the bottle upright for at least 24-48 hours before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Decanting is advisable for about 1-2 hours to separate sediment and allow the wine to breathe, but monitor it closely as very old wines can sometimes fade quickly. Serve at a cool cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F). 🍴 This profound red Burgundy would be exceptional with equally refined dishes. Consider pairings such as roasted venison, duck confit, beef Wellington, or a rich mushroom and truffle preparation. It also pairs beautifully with aged, firm cheeses like Époisses or Comté.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Daniel Moine Hudelot is located in the commune of Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy. Originally a small family estate managed by Daniel Moine, the former mayor of Chambolle-Musigny, the estate was acquired in 2008 by Patrick Landanger from the Domaine de la Pousse d'Or. Today, the estate no longer exists, but its wines are still appreciated by experienced amateurs.
