🏰 The 2016 vintage in Burgundy for red wines like this Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru was generally excellent, yielding fruity, smooth, and fleshy wines. This particular expression from Lucien Le Moine showcases a deep ruby red colour, with an intense and complex bouquet of wild red berries, black cherry, crushed raspberry, violet, peony, subtle spice, and hints of undergrowth, graphite, and chalky minerality. On the palate, it offers a precise and vibrant attack, revealing a core of pure red and black fruit wrapped in ultra-fine, powdery tannins, leading to a long, saline, and delicately spicy finish. 【 Known as the 'Petite Merveille' (Little Wonder) in the Middle Ages, this climat consistently produces wines of exceptional quality. 】
🍴 This elegant Grand Cru pairs beautifully with gastronomic partners such as roast pigeon or duck with a subtle jus, veal or beef tenderloin with morel or truffle sauce, or game birds like guinea fowl. Refined cheeses such as aged Comté or Brillat-Savarin would also be a superb match.
🥂 Ideal for intimate dinners, special occasions, or dedicated tasting evenings with fellow Burgundy enthusiasts, where its evolution in the glass can be savoured.
