FEATURES
🏰 The 2009 vintage in Burgundy was exceptional, producing ripe, full-bodied fruit with generally lower acidity, making for wines that are enjoyable in the medium term. It was a warm year, and while some wines might lack the acidity for extreme longevity, they offer good concentration and fruit, proving to be a hard vintage to go wrong with. La Grande Rue, a Grand Cru Monopole, achieved its Grand Cru distinction in 1992. Nicole Lamarche, who rebranded the estate under her name in 2018, emphasizes organic viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques. 【 Monopole Grand Cru with ripe, full-bodied fruit 】 🍴 This elegant Pinot Noir, with its very pleasant and lovely aromas, pairs wonderfully with beef, veal, and game such as deer and venison. For a more refined experience, consider roasted duck breast with cherry reduction, wild mushroom risotto, or herb-crusted lamb chops. It's also a fantastic match for fine French cheeses like Brillat-Savarin or Comté. 🥂 The 2009 vintage is generally ready for enjoyment, with many wines drinking exceptionally well now. While the best examples have further cellaring potential, this is a vintage that offers luxurious ripe fruit for relatively earlier consumption. Serve this exquisite wine to elevate any special dinner or celebration.
BACKGROUND
François Lamarche is a historic winery located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Henri Lamarche and his wife, Marie Grivelet, both of whom hailed from Burgundy and had extensive experience in wine production. In 2019, the current owner, Nicole Lamarche, officially renamed the winery to Domaine Nicole Lamarche, and from the 2018 vintage onwards, the wines no longer bear the name of the former owner, François Lamarche.
