🏰This 2007 Haegelen Jayer Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is a testament to a beautifully maturing vintage, offering a 【gorgeous, sexy, and rewarding experience】 that's drinking perfectly right now. The nose is full of 【roses, gentle thyme, and sous bois】, clean and uplifting. On the palate, it's 【pillowy and almost weightless, yet satiny】, with voluptuous red and black berry flavors that lead to a seamless, long, and gracefully tapering finish. Expect an earthy bouquet with forest floor notes, and a full, rich, and relatively powerful profile. This dynamic wine delivers an explosion of fruit within a focused Burgundian context.
🍴 This elegant red 布根地 (Burgundy) pairs wonderfully with classic French dishes like Coq au Vin or Beef Bourguignon. For an Asian twist, try it with roasted Peking duck or a rich mushroom hotpot. Mature cheeses like Comté or Époisses would also be a fantastic match.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party or a special anniversary celebration. It's a wine that encourages thoughtful conversation and appreciation. Given its age, decant for 30-60 minutes to allow its complex aromas to fully unfold. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
BACKGROUND
Domaine Haegelen-Jayer, like Domaine Henri Jayer, is a now-defunct estate, with 2009 being its final vintage. Located in the village of Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy, France, the winery primarily cultivated Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. It was established by Henri Jayer's niece, Madeleine Jayer, and her husband, Alfred Haegelen.
