🏰 The 2005 Georges Roumier Bourgogne Rouge hails from a truly legendary vintage, showcasing the Grand Cru pedigree of this esteemed producer even at the village level. With two decades of bottle age, this Pinot Noir has evolved into a silky, earthy, and deeply satisfying wine. Expect a fresh and bright nose of red berry fruits nuanced by warm earth notes, underbrush, and spice. On the palate, it offers rich, precise, and wonderfully fresh flavors with good vibrancy and punch, displaying a mineral streak and a long, savory finish. Notes of dried cherry, mushroom, and leather contribute to its complex profile. 【Legendary 2005 vintage from a Grand Cru pedigree producer】.
🍴 This elegant Bourgogne Rouge is an ideal companion for roast duck, mushroom risotto, or a selection of aged cheeses. Its earthy and savory notes also make it a superb match for game birds or dishes featuring truffles.
🥂 A perfect choice for a celebratory dinner, a special anniversary, or a refined gathering where a mature and complex Burgundy will be appreciated. It's also an excellent wine for a contemplative evening, allowing its evolved nuances to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Georges Roumier is a wine producer based in the Côte de Nuits village of Chambolle-Musigny that produces some of the most expensive, best-rated and most popular wines in Burgundy. The winery did not purchase the land directly, but used the French sharecropper/lease system, in which individuals farmed the land for the owner in exchange for a certain percentage of agricultural products. Now, Christophe has taken over the work of the winery and has become the owner of the winery. The current winemaker of the village. He pays close attention to terroir, so little new oak is used, and fermentation temperatures are kept low to allow the wine’s delicious flavors and aromas to shine through.
