🏰 The 2018 Drouhin Laroze Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru is a 【powerful and structured expression of this esteemed Grand Cru vineyard, offering significant aging potential】. Drouhin Laroze is a respected Burgundy producer. Chapelle Chambertin is one of Burgundy's most celebrated Grand Cru vineyards, known for producing powerful and long-lived Pinot Noir wines. The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was generally warm and sunny, leading to ripe and concentrated wines.
Expect a wine with a deep ruby hue, offering aromas of ripe red and dark berries, forest floor, and subtle spice. On the palate, it should be full-bodied with firm tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, complex finish, revealing layers of cherry, plum, and earthy notes as it evolves.
🍴 This robust Grand Cru Burgundy is an ideal match for classic French cuisine such as coq au vin, roasted game birds like pheasant or duck, or a rich beef bourguignon. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses.
🥂 A superb choice for a formal dinner, a serious wine collector's tasting, or a special celebration where a truly exceptional red Burgundy is desired.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Drouhin-Laroze is a wine producer based in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate mainly produces red wine from Burgundy's flagship grape variety, Pinot Noir. Representing a range of quality levels, from Grand Cru to "Country". Originating from the Gevrey vineyard acquired by viticulturist Jean-Baptiste Laroze in 1850, the domaine has been passed down through generations of the Laroze family and continued to expand with the marriage of Suzanne Laroze to Alexandre Drouhin in 1919. With 11.5 hectares (28.5 acres) of vineyards spread throughout Burgundy, it is run by the fifth and sixth generations of the family.
