🏰 The 2014 Domaine d'Eugenie Vosne-Romanée Clos d'Eugénie is a distinguished wine from a domaine formerly known as Domaine René Engel, purchased by François Pinault in 2006. The 2014 vintage, vinified with one-third whole clusters, presents a bright medium red color. On the nose, it offers darker and riper aromas than the basic village bottling, with good lift to its notes of black cherry, dark berries, licorice, and violet. The palate is juicy, dry, and elegantly styled, balancing berry intensity with saline minerality, culminating in suave tannins and very good subtle length. Neal Martin of Wine Advocate noted it was stubbornly closed when tasted from barrel, but showed a light marine influence with aeration, with a well-balanced palate and fine tannins. Allen Meadows of Burghound described a more refined mouthfeel with rich, generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors. 【 Elegant and refined Vosne-Romanée from a prestigious monopole vineyard 】
🍴 This elegant Pinot Noir is a classic pairing for refined French cuisine. It would be excellent with roasted duck, goose, or other game birds. Consider dishes like coq au vin, beef bourguignon, or even a delicate mushroom tart. Its subtle spice and red fruit notes would also complement soft, creamy cheeses.
🥂 This wine is suitable for a sophisticated dinner party, a special family gathering, or a romantic evening. It's an excellent choice for those who appreciate the nuanced elegance of Vosne-Romanée. While enjoyable young, it also has the potential to age gracefully, with a recommended drinking window from 2020-2028. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F). Decanting for 30 minutes can help it express its full aromatic range.
