FEATURES
🏰 The 2008 Bouchard Pere & Fils Bonnes Mares Grand Cru emerges from a Burgundy vintage that, despite a damp, chilly spring and cool, wet conditions that posed challenges like mildew, ultimately proved to be largely very good. The summer improved, allowing for a favorable ripening period. Bouchard Père & Fils, having acquired a small parcel in Chambolle-Musigny in 1996, produces a limited quantity of just over 1000 bottles of this esteemed wine annually. The estate achieved excellent successes in this challenging year, demonstrating their expertise.
This Pinot Noir offers a remarkably refined bouquet of fruit and spices, subtly combined with a hint of oak. On the nose, expect pungent raspberry, cherry, menthol, smoke, and crushed stone. The palate is lush, deep, and sweet, with compelling complexity and pungent minerality, showcasing flavors of dark raspberry, blood orange, stone, and spices. It is dense and seamless, yet possesses a magically light touch due to its underlying minerality and bright, tangy acidity. This wine delivers pure liquid pleasure, finishing with fine-grained tannins and outstanding lift and perfume. Critics also note its stunning complexity with ripe, layered, and unusually expressive red berry fruit aromas, cool and airy, with cassis liqueur notes and a subtle touch of wood. The flavors are explosive, powerful, seriously concentrated, big-bodied, and mineral-infused, with fine detail and almost painful intensity on the reserved, firm, and youthfully austere finish that is hugely long. 【 A remarkably refined and complex Grand Cru from a challenging 2008 vintage, showcasing excellent aging potential 】
