FEATURES
🏰Château Petit Village is a respected Pomerol estate, and the 1990 vintage is considered a 【legendary year in Bordeaux】, producing rich, opulent, and long-lived wines, making this a highly desirable and mature bottle. The 1990 vintage in Bordeaux is universally acclaimed as one of the greatest of the 20th century, particularly for the Right Bank appellations like Pomerol. The growing season was warm and dry, leading to perfectly ripe grapes with excellent concentration and balanced acidity. Wines from this vintage are known for their richness, depth, and incredible aging potential, often still drinking beautifully today. At 36 years old, this 1990 Château Petit Village should be fully mature and offer a magnificent array of complex aromas and flavors. Expect a bouquet of dried red and black fruits, truffle, cedar, tobacco, leather, and earthy notes. The palate should be rich, velvety, and harmonious, with fully integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish. The wine will have evolved into a savory, nuanced expression of aged Pomerol, showcasing its depth and elegance. 🍴 This mature Pomerol would be superb with classic French cuisine, especially dishes featuring truffles, roasted game (venison, wild boar), slow-cooked lamb, beef Wellington, or rich mushroom preparations. Aged hard cheeses would also be a sublime match. 🥂 A truly grand occasion, a significant anniversary, or a celebratory dinner for a connoisseur. This is a wine that commands attention and provides a memorable experience. Treat this venerable bottle with utmost care. Stand it upright for at least a week to allow any sediment to settle. Decant very gently just before serving to separate the wine from sediment. Use a two-pronged cork puller or Durand for the potentially fragile cork. Serve at cellar temperature, around 17-18°C (62-64°F), to allow its complex bouquet to fully express itself.
