FEATURES
🏰 Château de Pommard's Pommard Grand Vin 2001 is a red 布根地 (Burgundy) from a historic estate. While specific vintage reviews for the 2001 Pommard Grand Vin are not readily available, Pommard wines are renowned for their robust structure, firm tannins, and capacity for long aging. They typically express dark fruit flavors, often with earthy, gamey, and spicy undertones, reflecting the Pinot Noir grape and the region's unique terroir. 【A robust and age-worthy expression of Pommard's terroir】. 🍴 This wine would be an excellent companion to hearty and rich dishes. Consider classic French cuisine such as Boeuf Bourguignon, coq au vin, roasted game birds, or mushroom-based dishes. It also pairs well with strong, aged cheeses. 🥂 Ideal for a formal dinner, a special occasion celebrating a milestone, or a vertical tasting of Pommard wines. Its mature character suggests it's ready to be enjoyed, offering a complex and rewarding experience.
BACKGROUND
Chateau de Pommard is a winery and wine merchant located in the Burgundy region. While best known for its namesake Pommard wine, the portfolio also includes a range of Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir from across the Côte d'Or. Chardonnay wine. This also includes some grand cru wines. In addition to its two unique chateau buildings, the winery has 20 hectares (50 acres) of walled vineyard Clos Marey-Monge. The estate dates back to its founding in 1726 by a nobleman of the court of Louis XV. The property was purchased by Maurice Giraud in 2003 and an improvement plan was implemented. In 2016 it was acquired by Silicon Valley businessman Michael Baum, whose team has begun converting the estate to biodynamic farming.
