FEATURES
🏰news | features + short tasting note IN ENGLISH 【A 5th Grand Cru Classé Pauillac from the exceptional 2009 vintage, considered one of the finest young vintages for this Chateau】, the 2009 Chateau d'Armailhac consistently produces outstanding Cabernet-dominant blends. Highly rated with scores up to 94 points, it reveals a dark and intense red color. The nose is rich and beautifully fresh, combining 【ripe red fruit aromas with delicate roasted and vanilla notes】, alongside a big, sweet kiss of asphalt, black currants, mocha, barbecue smoke, cedar, and spice. The palate is powerful and clean, with mature, well-rounded tannins, full-bodied, and distinguished by touches of slightly toasted oak, leading to an elegant, lingering finish. 🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing various types of suggestion east or west corresponding to wine cost IN ENGLISH This superb Pauillac is a magnificent match for a Cantonese roasted suckling pig or a rich braised goose with plums. For Western cuisine, it pairs perfectly with classic meat dishes like veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, or a slow-cooked leg of lamb. It also complements Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, pasta, and a variety of hard and soft cheeses. 🥂 fit for event suggestion IN ENGLISH Ideal for special dinners, celebrations, or for collectors seeking a well-aged and expressive Pauillac. This wine offers both immediate enjoyment after decanting and excellent potential for further cellaring.
BACKGROUND
Château d'Armailhac is a wine estate in the Pauillac appellation of the Médoc. As Mouton d'Armailhacq it was ranked as a fifth growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The vineyard is located to the south of the village of le Pouyalet, immediately next to Mouton Rothschild and nearby Pontet-Canet. It covers 172 acres (70 hectares) and is planted with 52 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 36 percent Merlot, 10 percent Cabernet Franc and 2 percent Petit Verdot. Grapes are fermented in 23 gravity-fed stainless steel vats, sized according to different parcels in the vineyard. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak; one-third new, one-third in one year old and one-third in two-year-old barrels.
