🏰 The 2017 vintage in Burgundy was a generous one, yielding fruity reds with moderate acidity and soft tannins. It's considered a consistent and delicious vintage, often compared favorably to 2000 or 2007, and showing good aging potential. Vincent Dauvissat's Irancy is a rare red bottling from this iconic Chablis estate, showcasing Pinot Noir grown on classic Kimmeridgian limestone and clay soils, similar to those found in Chablis. This limited-production wine is highly sought-after. 【 Rare red bottling from an iconic Chablis producer, showcasing unique Kimmeridgian terroir for Pinot Noir 】
On the nose, expect a vibrant and lively character bursting with tart red cherry fruit, accented by delicate notes of green spice. It's elegant and fresh, with additional hints of raspberry and cranberry, reflecting both the purity of the terroir and the precision typical of the domaine. The wine displays a beautiful deep ruby red color, with earthy undertones and floral notes. The palate is velvety smooth with well-integrated tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides a refreshing kick. Some tasters also note red fruit, black cherry, and subtle oaky or spicy nuances.
🍴 This versatile red Burgundy pairs beautifully with roasted duck, grilled salmon, duck rillettes, jambon persillé, or oeufs en meurette. It also complements roast chicken with herbs.
🥂 A delightful choice for a range of dining occasions, this wine can be enjoyed in its youth due to its freshness and approachable tannins, but also possesses the structure to age gracefully for several years.
