🏰 Paul Pernot's 2013 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru is a distinguished expression from the largest landowner in this prestigious site, showcasing the purity of fruit and terroir with a classic, careful winemaking style. This wine offers notes of citrus, white flower, guava, and lemon, with pronounced nose intensity revealing honeysuckle, honey, cream, and tropical fruits. It's still holding up quite well, with intensity and acidity, ripe but more balanced now, presenting an enticing sweet/tart combination that is nearly rich, yet green-tinged and lean. The palate is very floral and silky, with an airiness and complexity, medium to full body, crisp and delicate. Expect earthy and white peach notes on the nose, with lots of smooth minerality and a honey-like roundness to the finish. The 2013 vintage is still quite young and energetic, though some notes suggest it might lack a bit of concentration for a top 1er Cru, possibly due to vintage characteristics.
🍴 This exquisite white Burgundy pairs beautifully with rich fish like salmon, tuna, or sea bass, mild and soft cheeses, pasta with cream sauces, roasted chicken, or scallops.
🥂 Ideal for a celebratory dinner, a special occasion, or for cellaring to allow further development of its complex aromas and flavors.
