Bruno Clavelier, Vosne Romanee Les Beaux Monts Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru, 2018
🏰 Bruno Clavelier is a world-renowned producer in Vosne-Romanée, a 【布根地】 (Burgundy) estate celebrated for its elegant, expressive wines. The domaine is a 【biodynamic pioneer with old vines】, with many planted in the 1930s and 1940s, naturally yielding concentrated fruit. The 2018 vintage in the Côte de Nuits was notably warm, yet Clavelier's wines maintain balance and freshness.
This Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru is often described as having "truly Grand Cru quality". Its aromatic profile includes licorice, raspberries, blueberries, and plum, with floral and minty undertones. The palate is concentrated, pure silk, balancing richness and elegance with outstanding sap and depth of flavors, leading to a long, minerally inflected, and salty finish. It possesses a significant tannic structure, suggesting excellent aging potential.
🍴 This exquisite Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru is a superb match for refined dishes. Consider roasted duck breast with cherry reduction, pan-seared foie gras, or a classic beef bourguignon. It also pairs beautifully with earthy mushroom risottos or aged, mild cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a celebratory dinner, a special gathering of wine connoisseurs, or a quiet evening of contemplation. This wine has the structure to age gracefully for many years, but if enjoying now, decanting for an hour or two will allow its complex aromas and flavors to fully unfold. Serve at a cool room temperature, around 16-18°C (61-64°F).
