FEATURES
🏰 The 2013 vintage in the Northern Rhône was particularly good, with a warm Indian summer saving the crop and leading to rich, concentrated wines in a classic style, especially for Côte Rôtie. Domaine Jamet's Côte Brune 2013 is a substantial, inky-colored, concentrated, and structured wine. It boasts a purple/black hue with terrific notes of black and blue fruits, crushed rock, peppered meats, and violets. On the nose, it is very high-toned and floral, with minty dried herbs and a hint of game. The palate is lithe yet layered, featuring sinewy, grippy tannins coated with silky red fruit, presenting a cool, savory, and elegant profile despite its intensity. Expect dark fruit, burnt soil notes, asphalt, flowers, black olives, and a distinct mark of rock, all balanced by smooth, soft tannins. This wine delivers intense aromas of bacon, smoke, black and red fruit, tea leaf, and white pepper, showcasing amazing structure, elegance, power, joy, complexity, and depth. 【Hardcore Côte Brune, showcasing immense depth and complexity with a unique signature】 🍴 This powerful Syrah from Côte-Rôtie is an excellent match for lamb dishes. Its meaty, beefy style also complements other rich red meats beautifully. 🥂 The 2013 Jamet Côte Brune is a wine that requires patience, best suited for patient collectors with cold cellars. It is just beginning to enter its drinking window, offering real finesse and approachability, with an optimal drinking period extending from 2025 to 2055.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jamet is a renowned wine producer located in Ampuis, at the heart of the northern Rhône wine region in France, celebrated for its traditional Cote Rotie wines. The estate spans about seven hectares (17 acres) of vineyards, scattered across small plots in the Côte Brune and Côte Blonde areas of Côte Rotie. Predominantly, the vineyards are planted with Syrah, complemented by minor plantings of Marsanne, Viognier, and Roussanne. Founded by Joseph Jamet in 1950. By 1976, Domaine Jamet started bottling its own wines. After Joseph retired, his sons Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul ran the estate. Currently, Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet oversee the domaine, joined by their son Loïc since 2015.
