FEATURES
🏰 The 2007 Domaine François Lamarche Vosne-Romanée La Grande Rue Grand Cru is a sensuous, mouthfilling wine with delicious length and depth, showcasing a beautiful core of minerality. The 2007 vintage in Burgundy was considered classic, producing well-constituted wines, though some reds were initially reserved behind their tannins. This particular wine offers a harmonious nose of incense sticks, cranberry, and allspice, followed by a surprisingly full palate that explodes with spice and warm fruit pudding. It presents a medium cherry red color with red-shaded cherry fruit that is a little candied, slowly building understated spice notes. The palate has plenty of volume, with savory aspects coated in a creamy texture, leading to a super length with a hint of oak wedded to creamy fruit. 【 A sensuous and imperial Burgundy Grand Cru with a beautiful core of minerality 】. 🍴 This refined Pinot Noir from Burgundy pairs exquisitely with classic French cuisine. Consider roasted poultry like duck or guinea fowl, pan-seared foie gras, mushroom-based dishes, or delicate game birds. Its elegance also complements soft, earthy cheeses like Époisses or Comté. Avoid overly heavy or spicy dishes that might overpower its nuanced profile. 🥂 The 2007 La Grande Rue is considered ready to mature, with a drinking window extending to 2026. It is ideal for a special anniversary, an intimate gourmet dinner, or as a highlight in a Burgundy tasting. For an older wine, handle with care. Stand the bottle upright for at least 24 hours before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Decanting for 30-60 minutes can help it open up, but be mindful of its age and potential fragility. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F). Be prepared for the possibility of a fragile cork and consider using an Ah-So opener.
BACKGROUND
François Lamarche is a historic winery located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Henri Lamarche and his wife, Marie Grivelet, both of whom hailed from Burgundy and had extensive experience in wine production. In 2019, the current owner, Nicole Lamarche, officially renamed the winery to Domaine Nicole Lamarche, and from the 2018 vintage onwards, the wines no longer bear the name of the former owner, François Lamarche.
