🏰The 2012 Giacomo Borgogno Barolo Cannubi Riserva is a 【savory and well-evolved Barolo, offering a complex bouquet of licorice and dark fruits】 from the esteemed Cannubi vineyard. This garnet red wine with orange highlights is drinking beautifully now, showcasing supple fruit and tamed, fine tannins. On the nose, an attack of licorice is prominent, while the palate delivers great freshness and elegance, with a sense of sweetness and an iodized finish. Dark berry, pipe tobacco, chopped herb, and forest floor aromas carry over to the polished palate, along with dried cherry, orange peel, and ground spice. It represents a traditional-style Barolo, with high acidity and firm tannins that are now beginning to round off.
🍴 This powerful red wine is a classic pairing for roasted red meats, rich game dishes, luxurious truffle-infused cuisine, and a selection of aged, hard cheeses.
🥂 An excellent choice for a formal dinner, a special occasion, or a vertical tasting. This wine is drinking very well now, still youthful but open-knit, and possesses further aging potential.
Serving Suggestion: For a 2012 Barolo, decanting for 1-2 hours is highly recommended to allow the wine to open up and express its full complexity. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
