FEATURES
🏰The 2000 Burgundy vintage, particularly in the Côte de Nuits, produced 【charming, open, and fruit-forward red wines that have aged gracefully beyond expectations】. This Nicole Lamarche Vosne Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru, from a renowned appellation for elegance, offers a beautifully mature expression of this vintage. Expect a deep ruby color, with a nose that evolves from red fruit notes like raspberry to more complex tertiary aromas of spices, liquorice, roses, toasted bread, and cocoa. The palate is mellow, with discreet tannins and acidity, showcasing a delightful balance and depth.
🍴 This mature Vosne-Romanée is an exquisite pairing for game dishes such as venison or wild boar, red meats in rich wine sauces, or poultry with mushrooms. It also complements extra mature cheeses beautifully.
🥂 Ideal for a refined dinner, a special occasion featuring game or roasted meats, or a contemplative evening for a Burgundy connoisseur. Serve at 16-18°C (61-64°F). Decanting for 30-60 minutes can help it open up and reveal its full aromatic complexity, while also separating any potential sediment that may have formed over two decades.
BACKGROUND
François Lamarche is a historic winery located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Henri Lamarche and his wife, Marie Grivelet, both of whom hailed from Burgundy and had extensive experience in wine production. In 2019, the current owner, Nicole Lamarche, officially renamed the winery to Domaine Nicole Lamarche, and from the 2018 vintage onwards, the wines no longer bear the name of the former owner, François Lamarche.
