🏰【A wonderful and classical expression from the renowned Cannubi vineyard in the 2008 vintage, offering a complex bouquet and powerful palate】. The 2008 vintage for Barolo Cannubi is considered a wonderful and classical year, producing a wine that is a bit heftier. This 100% Nebbiolo wine is aged for 24 months in French oak barriques and a further 12 months in bottle before release. Initially, it may present a muted nose of black cherries, but with air, it reveals stunning, sweet black cherry aromas, along with plum, tobacco, licorice, and cocoa. The palate is full-bodied with abundant tannins that are pleasantly dry and soft, leading to a persistent finish. It is still quite backward and needs time to fully open up.
🍴 This sumptuous wine is perfect with full-flavored Piedmontese cuisine, such as dishes featuring white truffles from Alba, braised meats, and "finanziera". It also pairs wonderfully with deer.
🥂 Ideal for a special occasion dinner, particularly with rich, traditional Italian cuisine. It is recommended to give it at least another 5 years of aging to fully develop its potential, and decanting for an hour or more when young.
