FEATURES
🏰Jean-Marc Roulot's 2018 Meursault Vireuils is a 【fine success from a hot vintage, showcasing purity, finesse, and a remarkable expression of its unique terroir】. This wine is noted for its austere yet finely delineated character, unwinding with hints of crisp Anjou pear, citrus oil, nutmeg, and fresh bread. It presents saline, marine minerality alongside frangipane, grilled walnut, orange zest, nectarine, and ripe orchard fruits. The palate is medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural, and incisive, with a racy spine of acidity and a chalky, penetrating finish. Despite the warm 2018 vintage, Roulot managed to produce a well-balanced Burgundy with a very pale lemon-yellow color, a touch of reduction, and a long, lingering finish. It's described as taut, precise, and quite full-bodied, with a lemongrass-tinged aftertaste.
🍴 Excellent with roasted lobster, seared scallops, roast chicken with mushroom cream sauce, soft-ripened cheeses (Brie/Comté), foie gras, miso-glazed black cod, tempura prawns, or Chinese steamed sole with ginger.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special seafood meal, or as a thoughtful gift for a white Burgundy enthusiast. It's also a wine that will benefit from a few more years in the cellar.
