🏰 The 2022 Comte Armand Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru is a 【gourmand, full-bodied, and elegant wine with surprising aging potential】, a blend from the sought-after Les Bréterins and Les Duresses vineyards. This vintage offers a bright, fresh purple color with good fruit weight and a plusher texture than the village Auxey, balanced by notable acidity and a crunchy energy alongside darker fruit. Expect brambly black fruit, wild strawberry, and a touch of white pepper on the nose, with delicate sour red cherry notes. The 2022 vintage in Burgundy was generally easy, warm but not excessively so, yielding good quantity and quality with perfectly mature fruit.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with poultry, veal, and mushroom-based dishes. Consider classic pairings like beef bourguignon, grilled or roast pork, lamb, or a great cut of steak. It also complements white meats in creamy sauces or braised dishes.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party or a special occasion where a refined, age-worthy Burgundy is appreciated. Its finesse allows it to be enjoyed from its third year in the bottle, but it also has great aging potential, ready to drink from 2025-2037.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Comte Armand is a Burgundy wine producer located in the Beaune-Cupoma region. It is famous for its Pinot Noir, especially from the estate's premier monopole vineyard, Clos de Epeneaux. Pinot. The domaine has been owned by the Armand family for nearly two centuries. During the French Revolution, the church confiscated 5 hectares (12 acres) of vineyards. For more than 100 years, the domaine consisted only of single-pole vineyards until 1994. The company was expanded in 1988 with additional plots at Volnay and later Auxey-Duresses. The winery now farms 9 hectares (22 acres) of vines organically, with an average age of 50 years and some up to 80 years old.
