🏰【A rare Champagne from the heart of Clos des Goisses, the 2006 Philipponnat Les Cintres showcases a grand yet refined character】. Sourced from a small plot within the famous sun-drenched Clos des Goisses in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, this Champagne is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, having spent time in oak barrels. The 2006 vintage was warm, yielding big, ripe, and muscular champagnes, with only 2065 bottles produced. Disgorged in October 2015 with a 4.5g/L dosage, it presents a deep straw color. On the nose, it's very sumptuous, full, and racy, with perfectly cadenced flavors of ripe red and yellow apple, ginger, honey, poached pear, limestone, olive oil, grilled lemon, and pecan. The palate is full-bodied and vinous, with a light smoky note and magnificent freshness on a long, opulent, rich, and aristocratic finish, balanced by a firm phenolic bite.
🍴 This powerful and expressive Champagne pairs exquisitely with rich seafood like pan-seared lobster, grilled crab, or delicate shellfish. For an Eastern twist, consider steamed garoupa with ginger and spring onion, or even a luxurious abalone dish.
🥂 Perfect for special celebrations, intimate gourmet dinners, or as a luxurious aperitif to kick off a memorable evening.
